Bettina Duehrkoop
Bettina brings over 25 years of experience in customer-centric strategy and product development, spanning both corporate and entrepreneurial environments. Before joining juli, she founded and led an award-winning advertising agency, which she successfully scaled and sold. As a parent of a college student, Bettina sees firsthand the growing importance of mental health support for young adults—an insight that fuels her commitment to building solutions that make a meaningful difference.

Joseph Hayes, MD, PhD
Joe holds an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a PhD in Psychiatric Epidemiology from UCL. He is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow and serves as an Honorary Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry with the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. As a clinician, researcher, and professor, Joe is deeply committed to improving mental health outcomes through technology—and increasingly concerned about the trends he sees among student populations. His work at juli bridges evidence-based care with scalable digital solutions.

Joris Straatman
Joris brings two decades of experience as a CTO, with a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing tech teams. He has launched multiple startups across both hardware and software, spanning B2B and B2C industries. With a BA in Psychology and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence—specializing in knowledge technology and machine learning—Joris is passionate about applying advanced technology to real-world challenges in health and education.

Germaine Oliver, OD
Germaine is an optometrist, veteran, and product innovator with over 25 years of service in the U.S. Army, where she led clinical care and healthcare innovation initiatives. As a co-founder of juli, she brings deep expertise in designing patient-facing digital tools that make healthcare more accessible and actionable. Her approach is grounded in data and focused on real-world impact, prioritizing solutions that help people manage their health more effectively. With many young people in her life facing mental health challenges, Germaine is deeply committed to creating tools that offer early, empowering support—especially for students.
